   Dark Boar is a Viking-theme reenactment group based in Central California with members from Stockton, Livingston, Columbia and all points in between. We all share the enjoyment of Renaissance Faires and recreating history through arts, crafts, and music. The focus of our group is the era of Viking exploration & expansion, roughly from the 8th to 11th Century, commonly known as the "Viking Age". 

   As the knowledge of historians and archaeologists improves with time and research, the enormous cultural heritage of the Vikings is coming to light. The period of history between the collapse of the Roman Empire and the growth, during the Middle Ages, of the European nations that endure to this day, was a time of great change; and, through their roles as raiders, colonists, and traders, the Vikings played an essential part in spreading the ideas and  traditions of different cultures throughout much of Europe.

   As a group, we enjoy sharing our knowledge of the period; and, most of all, we try to recreate the spirit of adventure and fellowship as told in the Sagas of the Norsemen.
